Children’s Concerts in the Round offers chance to meet musicians

Posted

Children ages 4 to 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy the world of classical chamber music at the Lenape Chamber Ensemble’s Concert in the Round at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in Doylestown.
Children’s Concerts in the Round are held in the Life Sciences Building Auditorium at Delaware Valley University, 700 E. Butler Ave., in Doylestown and are a regular presentation of the Lenape Chamber Ensemble in the fall and spring.
The chamber musicians who will perform classical favorites on Friday, March 4, at the adult concert in Upper Black Eddy, will bring to the children excerpts from the program of Haydn, Clarke and Glazunov for flute, two violins, viola, two cellos and piano.
Flutist Tanya Witek and violinist Cyrus Beroukhim from the New York City Ballet Orchestra, along with violinist Emily Daggett Smith, international viola soloist Brett Deubner and Philadelphia pianist Marcantonio Barone will entertain the children during the question and answer session.

Included are two cellists from the New York City Ballet and the American Symphony. Then the children may join them on-stage to view the instruments and chat with the musicians. Moderators for the 45-minute program will be Witek and Beroukhim.
Admission is $2 for each child at the door. Parents and adults accompanying the children will be admitted free. “Concerts In the Round” are supported by grants from the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, a division of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Visit Bucks County.
