Children’s author Kate DiCamillo set to visit Doylestown

Posted
The Doylestown Bookshop hosts a special event with children’s author and Philadelphia native Kate DiCamillo at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Lenape Middle School in Doylestown.

The author will discuss and signing her newest book, “Beverly, Right Here,” that sees the two-time Newbery Medalist return to the world first explored in “Raymie Nightingale” and “Louisiana’s Way” to focus on the tough-talking, inescapably tenderhearted Beverly.

This is DiCamillo’s only event in Pennsylvania. She is the author of many books for young readers.

Her books have been awarded the Newbery Medal; the Newbery Honor; the Boston Globe Horn Book Award and the Theodor Geisel Medal and honor. She is a National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Emerita, appointed by the Library of Congress.

This is a ticketed event; doors at Lenape Middle School will open at noon and the event will start at 1 p.m.

Each ticket costs $22, admits one person and comes with one copy of the book, “Beverly, Right Here,” no substitutions. Tickets are available at doylestownbookshop.com.

Books will be available for sale at the event, at Lenape Middle School, 313 W. State St. The author will sign and personalize any copies of “Beverly, Right Here” and one additional backlist title per person. She will not be able to sign any posters, bookmarks, scraps of paper, etc.

Books will be available for pick-up at the venue on the day of the event. Tickets will be emailed two weeks before the event.
