Challenging Fitzpatrick to oppose reckless spending

Posted

Congress just passed what is called an Omnibus spending bill. It is over 4,000 pages and an embarrassment to common sense. I doubt those who voted for it had the time or inclination to find out what's in it.

Among the members of Congress, only nine Republicans voted for it, one of whom was our own Brian Fitzpatrick. Now the good congressman is well aware that at least $200 billion of the $1.7 trillion was pork, but perhaps he feels we need to "go along in order to get along." Well, that's the road to economic suicide.

We need someone on the right side of the aisle to speak up and bring some sanity to federal spending. Why can't Brian assume that mantle?
