The Heritage Conservancy recently hosted field trips in partnership with Michener Art Museum, North Penn Water Authority and Bucks County Conservation District at Aldie Mansion.
Hundreds of fourth-graders from six Central Bucks elementary schools visited the Conservancy’s historic headquarters.
The purpose of these trips was to integrate cross-curriculum elements from “The Wind in the Willows of Bucks County” and to raise awareness about local architectural history, the Mercer family legacy, impressionist art, the importance of protecting waterways and environmental advocacy.
The book is the result of a collaboration between a team of community philanthropists that includes artist Alan Fetterman, Geoff and Gretchen Jackson of the Vesta Fund, Michael Katz of Strider Nolan Media, Inc., and Linda Deeter of DeeterUSA working with Heritage Conservancy. Geoff and Gretchen Jackson’s Vesta Fund provided the funding for the printing of all books.
