Celebrate Spring at Morven’s annual Plant Sale and Garden Party

Spring has come early to Morven Museum & Garden in Princeton, N.J., with the return of its annual plant sale.

Morven’s expert horticulturalists have compiled a stellar collection of annuals, perennials, and edible plants, each selected for their heartiness, unusualness, or beauty. Offerings include native and nativar plants that thrive in New Jersey, along with deer resistant species to help create an enjoyable landscape for wildlife and humans alike.

This year, Morven is partnering with Sustainable Princeton to identify plants for sale that are native to New Jersey. Native plants have many environmental benefits: they have roots that help conserve and filter water and protect soil resources, reduce the need for fertilizers and pesticides, attract butterflies and other pollinators, and provide food and shelter for wildlife.

Look for the “Sustainable Princeton Preferred” logo to identify qualifying plants and learn more about their benefits.

Morven Members receive a 10% discount. Morven Members and Early Patron Spring Garden Party supporters receive priority pickup for the Plant Sale, with first access to the on-site offerings May 12, followed by pick up for the remaining orders May 13 through 15.

To order by phone, call or leave a message at 609-924-8144, x103. Have your credit card ready. Some plants are exclusive to Morven and many are available in limited quantities.

On Friday, May 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., Morven in May’s Spring Garden Party is back, rain or shine. Celebrate the start of spring in Morven’s spacious backyard garden featuring a generous grazing menu, refreshing beverages, lively entertainment, and a highly curated auction.

Bidding for the auction will begin in late April and will remain open through the Spring Garden Party, closing at 7:30 p.m. May 5.

Auction highlights include: Bedens Brook golf package, Peacock Inn dinner and overnight stay, and the return of the Tugboat Ride. Morven’s newest exhibition, “Striking Beauty: New Jersey Tall Case Clocks, 1730–1830,” which opens April 21, will be on view.

Reserve your Spring Garden Party ticket by Friday, April 28 to secure your spot and be recognized on the invitation. For information, contact Megan Shackney, chief development officer, at or 609-924-8144 x101.
