Celebrate at Terhune Orchards’ Apple Days Harvest Festival

Posted

Terhune Orchards’ Apple Days Harvest Festival Sept. 14 and 15, kicks off seven weeks of Apple Days Harvest Festivals.

Visit the farm from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days for all things apple and tons of old-fashioned fall fun.

The theme of the Sept. 14 and 15 festival is All About Apples. Pick your own apples, snack on apples and make apple crafts. Take a tractor-pulled wagon ride around preserved farmland and listen to live music from Daisy Jug Band Saturday and Jimmie Lee Sunday.

Try out the hay bale and corn mazes and take a relaxing, nature-filled walk on the Farm Trail. Visit the Pick-Your-Own pumpkin patch to find pumpkins in all sizes to bring home to display or decorate.

Electronics-free family fun for children includes scavenger hunts, pumpkin painting, pony rides, rubber duck races, face painting, and visits with barnyard animals. Bring them to the Adventure Barn to experience creative, interactive exhibits highlighting New Jersey, the Garden State.

Pam’s Food Tent, the winery tasting room and the farm store will all be open. For additional apple picking, visit Terhune’s 27-acre Van Kirk Road orchard (around the corner) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All of the trees are dwarf varieties – the perfect picking height for all visitors.

Apple Days Harvest Festivals take place weekends through Oct. 27. Admission is $10, ages 3 and up. Parking and access to the farm store and winery are free. Visit online for information.
