CB East student wins second place in ocean art contest

Carina Sun, a 17-year old student at Central Bucks High School East, won a second place in the 2020 Science Without Borders Challenge, an international ocean art contest for students.

Sun won second place in the high school category for her stunning piece of artwork, “Heart of the Ocean,” for which she will receive a $350 scholarship to help her pursue her artistic dreams.

The foundation received more entries this year for the Science Without Borders Challenge than ever before. More than 650 students from 43 countries around the world sent in artwork illustrating this year’s theme, “Take Action: Conserve Coral Reefs.”

The winning entries in each category are beautiful pieces of artwork as well as excellent illustrations of things people can do to help save coral reefs.
