Carversville U.C.C. hosts service of remembrance

Posted

Carversville United Church of Christ will hold its annual Memorial Day worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The community is invited to attend worship and participate in a service of remembrance in the adjacent Carversville Cemetery immediately following worship. Both services will be led by the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Fogal, pastor, and the Jubilant Brass quintet will provide special music.

If you wish to attend only the service of remembrance, meet the worshipers in the cemetery at 11 a.m. Boy Scouts from the church-sponsored Troop 64 will be flag bearers.

You are invited to bring flowers to place at the base of the Soldiers Monument during the service. The monument was erected in 1882 by the Carversville Public School in memory of 23 Carversville residents who fought in the Civil War. Not only will these persons be remembered, but veterans of more recent wars and those presently serving our country will be honored

The church is located at 3736 Aquetong Road, Carversville. For information, visit carversvilleucc.org or call 215-297-5166.
