The Riverside Symphonia’s Caprio Young Artists Competition will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at South Hunterdon Regional High School, 301 Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, Lambertville, N.J.

Six outstanding young musicians from the region will perform classical selections in a live competition to win cash prizes and the opportunity to perform with the Riverside Symphonia in its next season.

The six finalists are: Bethany Bobbs, 18, a cellist from Washington, N.J., and a student at The Juilliard School; Dabin Hwang, 19, a cellist from Hamilton, N.J., and a student at the Manhattan School of Music; Mio Imai, 11, a violinist from Malvern, and a student at Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musicians; Daniel Qi, 14, a violinist from Wilmington, Del., and a student at Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musicians; Yvonne Wang, 17, clarinetist, from Princeton, N.J., and a student at Princeton Day School and Juilliard Pre-College; and Zoe Yost, 19, a violist from Newark, Del., who is principal violist with Temple Music Prep’s Youth Chamber Orchestra.

The Caprio Competition aims to encourage, support and provide an opportunity for young musicians ages 22 and under who live or study in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or New York. Since 1998, the competition has awarded students funds to further their education and launch new careers.
