Cancer Support Community of Greater Philadelphia slates fall fundraisers

Posted

Cancer Support Community of Greater Philadelphia is gearing up for three fundraisers this fall.

Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia provides free programs to anyone with any cancer at any stage of the disease. Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia at Gilda’s Club has been providing its free, comprehensive program to Bucks County residents since 2002.

Each month, individual counseling, support groups, mind-body programs, and educational programs are offered to anyone with a cancer diagnosis and his or her family members.

These programs are all led by licensed mental health professionals or experts in their field. People can attend those programs that most closely meet their needs as well as meet with staff to help identify resources they may need in their cancer journey.

To keep programs free to all in need, CSCGP hosts a number of fundraisers throughout the year.

The 24th annual Paws 4 Life Dog Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Warminster Community Park, with an after-party at Gilda’s Club, which is adjacent to the park. Registration is at 9 am with a 1-mile walk. The after-party features dog demos, raffles, a 50/50, and a silent auction. There will be games for kids, and the first 125 participants will receive a “doggie bag” filled with goodies for you and your four-legged friends. There will also be music, food, and beverages to enjoy.

After you treat your dog to a great morning, join CSCGP for the annual Pints in the Park event held at Gilda’s Club from 1 to 5 p.m. The event will feature tastings from local breweries, great music, and food trucks. In addition, there will be a corn hole tournament where you can challenge other teams and show off your skills.

On Monday, Oct. 17 CSCGP will host its Swing for Cancer Golf Outing at North Hills Country Club. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m.

The event includes greens fees, lunch, on- course snacks, beverages and cocktails, dinner and an awards ceremony. The course at North Hills consists of idyllic landscapes, natural fairways and strategically placed bunkers.
