Canal Music Studios sets open house in Stockton, N.J.

Posted

Canal Music Studios announces a grand reopening at its new location in Stockton, N.J., with a public open house and celebration set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10.

The grand reopening and open house celebration is partly made possible by more than 150 dedicated donors. Canal Music Studios, located initially in Lambertville, N.J., moved to the new Stockton location at 16 Bridge St., in response to Hurricane Ida and the devastating flooding that followed.

The new location in the borough will offer more classes, more space, and new programming that will be announced during the public open house. The open house event will also offer light refreshments and live entertainment by various Canal Music Studios instructors and students.

Immediately after Ida’s flood, Canal Music Studio supporters and the community rallied together and raised funds to secure the school’s future.

“I was overwhelmed by the immediate community response to dive in and remedy our dire situation. I honestly thought our school’s doors were shuttered permanently. To my amazement, a GoFundMe page was created, a few benefit concerts organized by students, WDVR FM, and friends, raising over $60,000 to help us recover and secure our new home – our future never looked brighter,” said Founder and Executive Director Adrienne Walsh.

Future programming in person or virtually at Canal Music Studios will include: summer camps; private lessons for all ages; group classes in music theory and composition; master classes; instrumental group classes for ages 8 and up, including adults; and chamber music, jazz/rock ensembles and workshops.
