The Cairn University School of Music will host the first Instrumental Festival.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, woodwinds, strings, and brass players in seventh through 12th grade and their teachers are invited to take part in this free event on Cairn’s campus.
The day will begin with a workshop focused on rehearsal techniques and include coaching and rehearsals in small group settings. These will culminate in student performances of chamber works learned and rehearsed together. There will also be performances from Cairn faculty and a professional demonstration of how to rehearse and learn new music.

The festival is free.
Register by Oct. 18 at cairn.edu/instrumentalfestival.
The event takes place in the Chatlos Chapel, Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne.
