Cairn professors set to perform recital

Posted

Cairn University’s School of Music has scheduled a faculty recital with music professors Megan Carroll and Graeme Burgan for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

The public is invited to join the Cairn music community for a flute and piano concert titled “Continental Drift.”

Carroll and Burgan will perform selections from composers like Dvorak, Muczynski, O’Boyle and Piazzola. The works exhibit the musical drift of the continents, bringing international voices to the U.S. music scene.

Admission to the event is free. Register at cairn.edu/tickets.

The concert will take place in Holmes Hall, Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne.

Carroll, adjunct faculty member, instructs the flute at Cairn University. For six years, she held the seat of Principal Flute for Symphony in C.

Burgan is an active professional musician, educator and administrator. As a pianist, he has collaborated with many musicians and vocalists and worked with groups like the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic.
