Buddhist Sangha of Bucks hosts meditation retreat

Posted

“Relaxing in Clarity: One-Day Silent Retreat” with Dr. Rebecca Li, a Chan teacher, will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Yardley Friends Meetinghouse, 65 N. Main St., Yardley.

Advance registration is required by Friday, for the retreat hosted by The Buddhist Sangha of Bucks County. The suggested retreat donation is $40. Contact the Buddhist Sangha if you need a scholarship to attend.

This retreat is an opportunity to deepen your meditation and experience understanding of Dharma teachings and Chan practice. You will learn to cultivate clear awareness of body and mind through Chan meditation and gain insight into habitual tendencies that cause suffering for yourselves and explore ways to release these habits to attain inner peace.

This will be a silent retreat with a silent lunch, offering the practice of eating meditation. Light fare will be provided, but participants are asked to bring their own lunch to the retreat.

For those who are unable to attend this retreat, another retreat is set for Saturday, June 24, led by teacher Padmadharini, who lead the retreat last March.

The nonprofit Buddhist Sangha of Bucks County offers its programs, retreats, and weekly meetings through the volunteer efforts of its members. It relies on your weekly donations (dana) to pay its rent and provide various offerings. You can make a contribution by check at any time in-person or online using Paypal.

All are welcome, regardless of ability to contribute. Visit Buddhist Sangha.com.
