Bucks students show creativity

The Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU), in partnership with this year’s host school district; Central Bucks, organized the second annual Bucks County Student Arts Expo.

Held at Central Bucks High School South, the event featured the artwork and performance productions of students from Bucks County school districts, career technical centers (CTCs), and from the Bucks IU. This program was conceived as a means of bringing together these educational entities to highlight and demonstrate the breadth and depth of the arts education programs currently available to students of Bucks County public schools. The event was free and open to the public.

Visual arts and multi-media productions were displayed and filled the entire auditorium lobby area. The works were grouped by each of the 14 different Bucks County high schools/districts participating with each piece of art labeled with the artist’s name and grade, their school and teacher. The pieces on display including ceramics, photography, pencil drawings, mosaic tile works, plaster sculptures, printmaking, painting, film, and more.

The evening’s performances were an array of entertainment representing county-wide musical and dramatic programs. With a total of 24 pieces performed by 11 different groups, attendees were transported for two hours from a production of “My Shot” from the Broadway hit “Hamilton” to an original composition by the Drummers With Attitude.

The evening provided a truly unique opportunity to experience, enjoy, and become immersed in an eclectic, and highly skilled, celebration of Bucks County student artists and performers.

Participating schools and districts were: Bristol Borough School District, Bristol Township School District, Bucks County Intermediate Unit, Bucks County Technical High School, Central Bucks School District, Council Rock School District, Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, Morrisville School District, Neshaminy School District, New Hope-Solebury School District, Palisades School District, Pennridge School District, Pennsbury School District and Quakertown Community School District.
