Bucks student art showcased in college’s 57th annual show

The Bucks County Community College 57th annual Student Art Exhibition will be on view from April 29 to May 13, at the Hicks Art Center Gallery on the Newtown Campus.

A showcase of the best work made by students in the Art Department, the show includes painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital media, two-dimensional design, three-dimensional design, sculpture, fine woodworking, ceramics, jewelry, glass, web design, graphic design, music, film, and video.

Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A reception, student art and craft sale, open studios, and demonstrations of glass blowing, wood turning and bronze pouring will take place between 1 and 4 p.m. May 1.

The May 1 schedule of events is as follows: Reception, 1 to 4 p.m., Hicks Art Center; 2 p.m., Arts Scholarship and Award Ceremony; Student Art and Craft Sale, 1 to 4 p.m., 3-D Courtyard (weather permitting) or 3-D Arts 001; Open Studios, 1 to 4 p.m., Hicks Art Center; Glass Blowing Open Studio & Demonstrations, 1 to 4 p.m., 3-D Arts Building 010; Wood Turning Demonstration, 1 to 2 p.m., Hicks Art Center, Room 130; and Bronze Pour Demonstration, 3 p.m., 3-D Arts Building, Metal Foundry.
