Mike Colkett, owner of Colkett Painting in Sellersville, recently won the 2019 Top Job award for Pennsylvania, given out by the APC (American Painting Contractor) magazine, the voice of the industry since 1924.
The award was announced at the PDCA annual conference, held this year in Savannah ,Ga.
The winning work is a trompe l’oeil mural depicting the Chateau Lafite Rothschild winery in Bordeaux, France.
Two artists, Michael Colkett and Cynthia Back, spent three days painting the 5-by-7-foot mural and its trompe l’oeil stone border in a private wine cellar in Bucks County.
The mural was painted using Golden’s acrylic paints.
