Bucks Opera Association hosts “Spring Fling with an Afternoon of Song”

A joyous “Spring Fling with an Afternoon of Song” was held April 3, at “Dark Forest” in New Hope, at the home of Chuck and Pearl Mintzer with over 80 in attendance.

With Michael Lewis as the accompanist and program director, the bel canto music was performed by Lydia Grindatto, soprano, Anne Marie Stanley, mezzo soprano, Shawn Roth, tenor and Peter Barber, bass. The resident artists of The Academy of Vocal Arts performed excerpts from “Cosi fan tutte,” “Carmen,” “La Rondine,” “West Side Story,” “Lakme,” and “La Traviata.”

Giacomo Puccini’s, “La boheme,” was performed May 14 at Central Bucks South High School.
