Herald awarded journalism challenge grant

Posted

In recognition of its nonprofit local news reporting, the Bucks County Herald has been selected to receive a NewsMatch grant of up to $27,000. Reader donations received through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar for dollar and are tax-deductible.

“We hope the NewsMatch challenge inspires our readers to make a year-end donation. Donations fund the work of our dedicated local journalists, and every dollar helps,” said Bridget Wingert, president of the Bucks County Herald Foundation.

This is the second year in a row that the Bucks County Herald Foundation, a community-supported nonprofit news organization, has been selected to receive a coveted NewsMatch grant. The funds are made possible by the Loud Hound Partner Fund, a San Francisco-based family foundation that supports local journalism.

Donations can be made online at buckscountyheraldfoundation.org, by phone at 215-794-1096, or mailed, payable to the Bucks County Herald Foundation, to 875 N. Easton Road, Doyletown, 18902. In order for the Herald Foundation to receive the dollar-for-dollar match, the donations must be postmarked by Dec. 31.
