Bucks County Gentlemen prepare to put on a show

The Bucks County Country Gentlemen’s 45th annual a cappella show is just around the corner.

The fun-filled concert – “Singing A Cappella? Guilty As Charged” – brings the close harmony singing style of barbershop to a variety of music genres, with a little humor sprinkled in.

This year’s show is presented by Lenape Middle School, 313 W. State St., Doylestown at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, and will highlight the Country Gentlemen chorus and its quartets, the internationally competing quartet Prime Time, and vocal groups from Central Bucks School District.

The courtroom comedy format provides the opportunity to intermix a brief history and characteristics of Barbershop with songs from different genres and eras. “The ruling will be unanimous, an enjoyable time listening to songs rich in harmony and meaning.”

Admission is $18 adults, $15 seniors, $5 students. Group rates are available. Veterans, military, first responders with ID or in uniform are welcome at no charge. Tickets are at 570-543-2224 or, or mail a check to P.O. Box 333, Doylestown, PA 18901.

The Country Gentlemen chorus is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a nonprofit organization. The chorus performs at events for schools, charitable organizations, community centers, houses of worship, and private groups, and supports singing in Central Bucks School District through the Youth In Harmony program.

The chorus meets each Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the location listed at, which also has a performance calendar.

They always welcome guests.
