Bucks County Bar Foundation slates annual Charity Golf Outing

Posted

The Bucks County Bar Foundation 2023 annual Charity Golf Outing will be held June 12 at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope.

This year’s outing is in support of Bucks County Veterans Court Programs.

The Bucks County Veteran’s Treatment Program, also known as “Veteran’s Court,” was established in 2012 by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office to more effectively address the needs of veterans cycling through the county court, probation and parole, and prison systems.

The Veteran’s Treatment Program provides comprehensive treatment and alternative sentencing options for veterans who have honorably served their country. The goal of the program is to enhance public safety and reduce recidivism of criminal defendants who are veterans by connecting them with VA benefits, treatment services, and veteran support services, along with finding appropriate dispositions to their criminal charges by considering the defendant’s treatment needs against the seriousness of the offense(s) and the impact of the crime on the victim and the community.

Through the program, veteran mentors are paired with a veteran to provide support and assistance leading to successful completion of the Bucks County Veterans Treatment Program. Some requirements of the program may include community service, restitution, and counseling.

This year’s outing will have both golfer and nongolfer registration options and various sponsorship opportunities. Registration will include lunch, golf or cornhole, and a happy hour and dinner reception.

There will be contests, raffle prizes, auction items and more.

Registration and sponsorships are available online at buckscountybarfoundation.salsalabs.org/golf2023 or by contacting info@bucksbar.org or calling 215-348-9413.

The mission of the Bar Foundation of the Bucks County Bar Association, consistent with its charter and as a 501(c)(3) charitable entity, is to promote and support programs, organizations, and individuals throughout Bucks County who are engaged in activities designed to foster respect for the rule of law, the advancement of rights, liberties and protections under the law, as well as activities which have as a principal purpose the advancement of social justice for the individuals, families and communities of Bucks County.
