Bucks County Association of Realtors helps Bucks County Housing Group

Posted

Thanks to the generous donations Realtors collected throughout the county, over 125 families in need will receive a healthy and hearty Thanksgiving meal, complete with the bird and all of the fixings.

Thanksgiving is a special time for families to come together and reflect on the best things in their life. In Bucks County, 10.4% of residents are food insecure, lacking access to affordable, nutritious food. This Thanksgiving meal could be the thing they are most thankful for this holiday.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving,” said Lynn Sharer, president of the Bucks County Association of Realtors. “Thanks to the generosity of the Realtor community, this year we are able to distribute over 125 Thanksgiving dinner bags to families who otherwise would have had a hard time buying food for a Thanksgiving meal on their own.”

On Nov. 7, the Bucks County Association of Realtors Reach Out Committee came together to sort and pack donations from all over the county. The primary collection points were real estate offices throughout the county. Many agents in the county went into their local neighborhoods and collected donations. The dinners were then delivered to the Bucks County Housing Group.

“This event truly brings Realtors together to serve the community they love. We have so much to be thankful for and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside our fellow Realtors and affiliate members from different offices throughout Bucks County to share our gratitude with the community,” said co-Chairs Jessica Finnell and Susan Langenstein of Bucks County Association of Realtors’ Reach Out Committee.
