Head of School Paul Lindenmaier recently unveiled plans for a new Lower School playground at a Zoom meeting with the Buckingham Friends School community.
Working with local company, Indigenous Ingenuities LLC, the new playground is designed to be environmentally responsible, using all natural materials, and incorporating the canopy of the Lower School’s large trees into the design. The school plans to begin construction this summer so that the playground is ready for the start of the school year in September.
“The look on the children’s faces last night said it all,” Lindenmaier said. “The new playground is going to be a fantastic addition to our Lower School program, and the natural, woodsy aesthetic aligns perfectly with the look and feel of our expansive 42-acre campus.”
The announcement comes on the heels of additional improvements to Buckingham Friends School, which include the construction of a new state-of-the-art gym, a standalone science building, and updates to all classrooms for third through eighth grades, including two new Learning Commons.
