Broadway Night is back at Central Bucks West

Posted

Broadway comes to Doylestown as the Central Bucks High School-West Choir presents Broadway Night at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1.

This year’s event will be hosted by West alumna Emily Mattheson who played Mrs. Potts in the International Tour of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and is now a thriving voiceover artist. Joining Mattheson is CB West alumna and Broadway star Jenny Lee Stern (“A Christmas Story” and “Rocky”).
Mattheson and Stern will be joined by Willy Falk (“Miss Saigon,” “Les Misérables,” “A Chorus Line”), Gabrielle Greene (“School of Rock”), Derrick Cobey (“Scottsboro Boys”), Benjamin Brown (National High School Musical Theatre Awards – Best Actor Nominee), and special guest Christopher G. Smith, who composed several of the pieces being performed during the evening from “Amazing Grace,” “Penn the Musical” and “Lykz” (the last two of which are currently in development).

The program will be directed by CB West choir director Dr. Joseph Ohrt (“Amazing Grace”), and accompanied by West alumna Karen Burgman (“Amazing Grace”) on piano.
A highlight of this program is the opportunity for Central Bucks students to perform alongside Broadway stars. The Central Bucks High School West Choir, as well as the choirs from Lenape Middle School and Tohickon Middle school, will add their voices to the night of music.
Broadway Night takes place in the West Auditorium, 375 W. Court St., Doylestown. Tickets can be ordered online at showtix4u.com/event-details/57011. General tickets are $15. Premium seating is $25. Seniors/Students are $10. Tickets will be sold at the door subject to availability.
