The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Thursday that Covered Bridge Road will be closed starting Monday so structural repairs can be made to the bridge that spans Tohickon Creek in Haycock and East Rockhill townships.
The bridge will be out through early March, according to PennDOT, meaning Covered Bridge Road will be closed between West Thatcher and Richlandtown roads.
Motorists will be directed to use Richlandtown Road and West Thatcher Road and are urged to allow extra time when traveling in that area.
Built in 1873, the 19-foot-wide structure carries an average of 147 vehicles per day.
