Book launch to benefit William Tennent House restoration

Posted

The William Tennent House Association will host the launch of Dr. Rebecca Price Janney’s latest book, “Morning Glory: A Novel of the First Great Awakening” at Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Warminster, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

Janney will describe the struggles two of the main characters, Catherine Harrison, the daughter of a local pastor, and Henry Sharp, a recent graduate of William Tennent’s Log College, face to be together during the turbulent 18th century period known as the First Great Awakening.

She also will discuss her interest in revivals, how this book came about, and the role the Great Awakening had in preparing America for the rigors of the Revolution.

Refreshments will be served, and signed copies of Janney’s book will be available for purchase.

Admission is $10 per person ($12 at the door). Reservations are encouraged at williamtennenthouse.org/donations/morning-glory.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the William Tennent House Restoration Project. For information, go to williamtennenthouse.org.
