Benjamin Powell, age 87, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on December 13, 2021. Ben was born September 6, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Hickman and Gladys Powell. He moved as a young child to Tinicum Township, where he was a lifelong resident.

Ben attended Solebury High School and Cornell University. After college, he entered the Navy and served onboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. Some of his fondest memories were of his time in the Navy, and he delighted in sharing them with his family and friends. Ben was a lover of all things Tinicum Township and Bucks County, and he turned this into a lifelong career as a realtor at Class-Harlan Real Estate in Doylestown. He was active in his community and served as a volunteer with the Delaware Valley Fire Company and as a volunteer Forest Fire Warden, both for over 50 years.

Ben is survived by his children and their spouses, Jon Powell of Erwinna, PA, Jeffrey and Edie Powell, of Dublin, NH, and Susan and Jeff Wu of Boulder, CO, and grandchildren Sydney, Jake, and Beckett Wu. He is preceded in death by his first wife Anny Louise Ries Powell and his sister Margaret Alexander. A kind and loving man, Ben will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. A memorial service will be planned in the coming months, and Ben will be laid to rest at Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
