Bucks County Community College’s seminal fundraising event since 1989, the Tyler Tasting Party, is getting an update this year and will debut Friday, June 7, as the Tyler Taste of Summer.
This year’s edition, Tyler Taste of Summer – Crab Fest, will be a celebration of the sun, the sand, the surf, and the coastal lifestyle. It will feature a classic seaside-style crab fest and live music from Still Surfin’, a Beach Boys tribute band.
The event is a fundraiser for the Bucks County Community College Foundation. Proceeds will support scholarships, campus initiatives and historic preservation of Tyler Hall, the 89-year-old historic mansion on the Newtown Campus.
Each year, going forward, the Tyler Taste of Summer will be themed to capture the casual spirit of sunny climes and mild weather.
The evening features a cocktail hour in the Tyler Gardens, followed by the crab fest and chicken barbecue, with beer, wine, cocktails and dancing. It takes place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 on the campus at 275 Swamp Road., Newtown.
