Posted

Cosmic American Derelicts presents “An Evening of Honky Tonk Blues & Outlaw Country” at Sellersville Theater, 24 W. Temple Ave., Sellersville, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.

The Bergenfield, N.J.-based band, founded in 1998, has played four opening shows there and is now poised to perform its first headlining show.

The group will perform songs by band members’ musical heroes, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt, Charlie Daniels, and New Riders of the Purple Sage, as well as a number of their own original outlaw country songs.

Cosmic American Derelicts has been performing throughout the Northeast for over 20 years, playing the band’s own earthy mix of rock and roll, which has hints of blues, honky tonk country, bluegrass and a bit of soul and R&B as well.

The band is working on its fifth album, which features British singer Terry Reid on vocals and will be available in early spring. Cosmic American Derelicts has performed regularly with Reid for the last 12 years and has toured the east coast and U.K. several times, performing on some of the worlds most prestigious stages.
