For the past four years, Zimmermann’s Coffee House has been selling out at the Bethlehem Bach Festival.
The casual and fun event is modeled after Zimmermann’s Coffee House of Bach’s time in Leipzig, and held café-style in Peter Hall of Moravian College, Bethlehem, with its famous 19th century stained glass windows and acoustics.
Patrons listen to Baroque chamber music performed by young musicians and purchase German-themed food and drink. Appearances by conductor Greg Funfgeld and friends add to the festivities.
The Coffee House will be one of the events at the 112th Bethlehem Bach Festival in May. College and high school students may audition from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, and Friday, March 1, at The Bach Choir Offices, 440 Heckewelder Place, Bethlehem. Auditions are open to individuals and ensembles who play or sing Baroque music.
