Avril Lavigne will perform at Xcite Center at Parx

Posted

Grammy-nominated pop rock star Avril Lavigne will bring her “Head Above Water” tour to the Xcite Center at Parx in Bensalem at 8 p.m. Oct. 11.

After taking nearly five years off while she battled Lyme disease, Lavigne is back on the road. This is the first time the “Sk8er Boi” and “Complicated” singer will perform in Bucks County.

Her stop in the region is in support of her critically acclaimed sixth studio album, “Head Above Water,” which debuted in the Top 10. In this album, the Canadian crooner holds nothing back. She details each trial and tribulation from a perspective of triumph and emerges stronger than ever before.

Lavigne’s single, “Head Above Water,” details the personal side of her journey through her widely reported on battle with Lyme disease.

“This is me and my fight,” she said. “This album tells my story.”

Tickets are $60 to $100. One dollar from every ticket sold to her show at Parx will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation. The foundation supports people with Lyme disease, serious illness or disabilities. Through programs and grants, it provides funding, education and encouragement for its beneficiaries.
