Authors will tell stories behind Pennsylvania’s abandoned homes

Posted

The Warminster Library Butterfly Garden is hosting a book talk and signing on Saturday, June 12 with authors Robyn and Michael Hodgson who will discuss their new book, “Abandoned Pennsylvania: Ruins of the Family Dream.”
The authors have spent the last six years traveling the Northeast exploring hundreds of abandoned locations to learn why people vacate their homes. The discoveries they have made are often somber, so through their photographs, Robyn and Michael pay homage to the lost lives and the lost dreams the abandoned homes represent.

The Hodsons are a couple of 20 years with four children and three grandchildren. Robyn is a freelance journalist and adjunct writing instructor, and Michael is an occupational therapy assistant in a nursing facility. They believe each house contains a story and a memory.
The event will be outdoors from 11 a.m. to noon and the rain date is June 19. Social distancing and masks are required for this event and those who are interested in attending can register online.
