ArtWRKD presents “Glances” on Paper by Dan Sabau

ArtWRKD Exhibition Space presents “Glances” on Paper, featuring the recent works of Brooklyn artist Dan Sabau.

It will open with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, at 126-128 S. State St., Floor 2, Newtown, inviting art enthusiasts to experience the world of Sabau’s abstract expressionism and surrealism-inspired creations. The show runs through Sept. 30.

Sabau, a painter residing and working in the heart of Brooklyn, brings a wealth of talent and artistic exploration to ArtWRKD. His journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Sabau’s artistic trajectory took a transformative turn when he participated in the New York Independent Studio Program at Parsons School of Design. He moved to New York City in 2002.

Sabau draws inspiration from artists Nicole Eisenman, Jenny Seville and Marlene Dumas.

The faces he paints seem to emerge from the ethereal realms of imagination, their eyes drawing viewers into a profound connection with the art. The contrast between the surreal and the realistic produces a thought-provoking and emotionally charged experience for those who encounter his works.

Sabau’s artistry has garnered international acclaim, with his works featured in prestigious galleries and art fairs across the globe, including NADA Miami, Art Basel, Scope Switzerland Basel, Art on Paper, and The Other Art.
