Artworks Trenton hosts N.J. Council on the Arts Fellowship Exhibition

Posted

Artworks Trenton hosts the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship Exhibition, showcasing 2019-2021 recipients of fellowship awards in the visual arts.
The exhibition will run through May 21, with a public opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. March 26.
“This exhibition falls right in line with the Artworks Trenton mission of promoting artistic diversity by fostering creativity, learning, and appreciation of the arts. This exhibition will showcase 38 artists from across the state, working in a variety of disciplines,” said Addison Vincent, gallery manager of Artworks Trenton.
The Arts Council created the Artists’ Fellowship Program in 1971, and to this day it continues to acknowledge and assist artists working at the highest levels of excellence as determined by their peers.

The council understands the critical difference that providing this kind of support can make, as well as the importance of helping artists gain further public exposure for their work and advance their careers. Because of the program’s high standards, a Council Fellowship brings much deserved recognition and distinct-on that can help in even greater ways than the funds themselves.
“The Artist Fellowship program is one way that we recognize and elevate exceptional artists in the state,” said Danielle Bursk, director of community partnerships and artist services for the Council. “And through this year’s exhibition with Artworks, audiences can benefit from the powerful and beautiful work of New Jersey artists.”
Artworks is located at 19 Everett Alley, Trenton, N.J. Visit artworkstrenton.org for information.
