Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County produces local art postcards

Posted

The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County and Visit Bucks County announced that seven artworks were selected for the “Bucks County: Wish You Were Here” small works exhibition postcard competition.
A jury of four selected the works from over 120 submitted to the online exhibition and sale. The council will have each artwork printed on over 1,000 5- by 7-inch full-color postcards, which will be distributed to the Bucks County Visitor Center, Peddler’s Village, and historic locations throughout the county.
Aida Birriterri’s “Blue Delaware” takes a contemporary look at the iconic bridges that lead across the Delaware River. Jean Burdick incorporates layers of translucent and patterned printed and painted surfaces to create a rendition of “Thompson Neely House.” “Early Fall Sunset on Patterson Farm” by Cindy Fastis presents a contemporary composition that conveys the importance of farming in Bucks County.

Christi Hetrick’s “Cabin Run Covered Bridge” captures one of Bucks County’s treasured covered bridges. In “The Canal at Washington Crossing,” Barbara Lewis shows the peace that travelers often find while exploring towpaths. Judith Nentwig’s “Fall on Cabin Run” evokes Bucks County Pennsylvania Impressionist traditions. Helena van Emmerik-Finn’s “Fonthill at Sunrise” captures the architecture of Fonthill and creates a sense of place.
