Area movie theaters seek donations

Posted

Two local, nonprofit movie theaters are hoping to meet their fundraising goals by the end of the year.

The County Theater in Doylestown – which is undergoing an expansion and renovation – seeks to raise $200,000 by Dec. 31 in order to receive a gift of an additional $100,00 from two loyal donors.

Thus far, nearly $45,000 of that $200,000 goal has been raised, according to the county’s website, leaving just over $155,000 to go to reach the goal.

ACME Screening Room in Lambertville, N.J., seeks to raise $10,000 by Dec. 31. A gift of $25 or $50 will help Acme fulfill its goal of providing a well-rounded line up of film offerings and experiences.

A gift of $100 pays a local musician to perform at Acme’s outdoor movie series; $250 pays the licensing fee for a film; $500 contributes to the purchase of outdoor movie equipment; and $1,000 contributes to our Acme’s new web site and ticketing system design.
