Posted

AOY Art Center offers its winter 2022 selection of art and creative arts classes to help you make the most of winter while cultivating your creative side this January.
Just in time for holiday gift giving, e-Gift cards for classes are available on AOY’s website. Art classes are now forming and will start the week of Jan. 3. Reserve space today.
AOY announces the opening of its new printmaking studio with the inaugural adult class titled “Solarplate Printmaking” with Marc Schimsky on Tuesday evenings as of Jan. 4.
The solarplate printmaking class will use environmentally safe water-based inks and UV lights. Additionally, “The Wondrous World of Printmaking” for youths ages 8 to 16 will begin on Monday, Jan. 3 with instructor George Apotsos.
Another much requested class that is coming this January is “Stained Glass for Beginners” taught by David Hansel.
AOY continues to offer in-person classes for young artists ages 8 to 17 with:
● The Wondrous World of Printmaking;

● Adventures in Abstraction;
● Saturday Morning Cartoons and Comic Books; and
● Everyone’s An Artist
At AOY adults can choose from a wide variety of painting classes – from oils to watercolor or acrylic, from beginners to studio level, and from realism to abstract in a small class setting with experienced teaching artists. There are also classes in handmade felting to create wearable art.
AOY Art Center has continued to maintain a safe place for in-person learning, with limited class sizes, sanitation stations, requiring masks to be worn when inside, and air treatment units.
