AOY 10th Juried Show opening with reception

Posted

AOY Art Center opens its 10th Juried Show this month, featuring the selected works of 104 artists from the greater Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York area.

There will be 129 original works of art representing the best of some 350 pieces submitted for the consideration of the juror, Amanda Burdan, senior curator of the Brandywine River Museum of Art.

“I am honored to have been invited to jury the AOY Art Center’s 10th anniversary exhibition. Community-based arts organizations are critical to the health and well-being of the arts,” Burdan said. “The large number of submissions to this exhibition as well as the great variety of media represented is proof of the vibrant visual art scene in Yardley and the surrounding areas. Looking through the entries, the great depth of talent was obvious. There is an artist’s reception and awards program from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22.

AOY is awarding cash prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250. Jerry’s Artarama of Lawrenceville, N.J., will also provide prizes for the Honorable Mention categories. The gallery will open to the public as of April 23 from noon to 5 p.m. at 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley. Thereafter, the gallery will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. April 23 to May 15. The public can also view the Online Gallery 24/7 at aoyarts.org as of April 23. All artwork will be for sale.
