Annual Peaceable Kingdom Conference returns to Bucks

Posted

The annual Peaceable Kingdom Conference is being held at Bucks County Community College, Rollins Center Gallagher Room, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4.

The conference is sponsored by the college’s Business Studies Department.

It is the only conference whose goals are to: respect animals’ emotions and intelligence; increase people’s reliance on plant-based foods; be kind to Earth, its inhabitants, and ourselves; and, strengthen the human-animal bond.

There is a $30 per person registration fee ($20 for students); and preregistration is required due to limited seating. The fee includes a vegan lunch catered by CulinArt Group and a donation to an animal rescue organization.

Register at tickets.bucks.edu/2nd-annual-peaceable-kingdom-conference. For information, contact chris.simcox@bucks.edu or visit the conference on Facebook.

The featured speakers and exhibitors are prominent community leaders in animal welfare, rescue, science, spirituality and social justice. The workshops emphasize the conference goals, invite participants to examine their personal relationship with animals, and encourage participants to be open to adopting plant-based eating in small ways.

All ages, vegans and non-vegans alike, are welcome to attend.

The conference name is inspired by the “Peaceable Kingdom” paintings by life-long Bucks County resident Edward Hicks.
