Animals, contemporary life focus of new Artists’ Gallery show

“Breathing In,” featuring artists Beatrice Bork and Laura Rutherford Renner, runs July 4 through Aug. 4, at the Artists’ Gallery, 18 Bridge St., Lambertville.

The exhibit is a visual ode to everyday inspirations. Working in their respective mediums of watercolor and oil, the fine art displayed will include canine and feline friends along with birds and other animals and contemporary life.

All are welcome to join the artists at the opening reception from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Bork’s watercolor paintings have amassed a list of honors in the genre of animal art. Achieving signature status with the Society of Animal Artists and Artists for Conservation, her work has been displayed in notable national and international exhibitions.

Her paintings also have been featured in a variety of publications and acquired by collectors from around the world.

Renner’s paintings on wood depict contemporary life in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Her work has been presented in various group juried exhibitions and shows, recently at Artists’ Gallery and the Philadelphia Sketch Club.

She is a practicing Occupational Therapist and the published author of several biographical articles for OT journals, as well as the creator of PictureUrDay, a scheduling app for iPad and iPhone for different age groups.
