Albert R. Logan

Posted

Albert R. “Al” Logan, of Plumstead Township, went, peacefully, to be with his Savior on Sunday, March 27, 2022; his family was by his side. He was 79.
Al was the loving husband of Barbara Logan. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Doylestown, he was a son of the late Sarah and John B. Logan Jr.
In his youth, Al spent much of his life on the small dairy farm of his godparents, Reuben and Anna Dunlap in Bedminster. After his graduation from Central Bucks High School, Al continued his love of working outdoors and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Sylvan Pools, EarthMovers and George Coulton & Sons. Al worked for Blooming Glen Contractors from 1978 to 2011 at which time he retired when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
In his free time, Al enjoyed life at home: mowing the lawn; gardening; home improvement projects, watching his favorite Westerns, and working on puzzles of all kinds. Though he operated the black and gold of Caterpillar equipment for his entire working life, also of great joy was his love of John Deere tractors. This love of green and yellow, started in his boyhood, when at the age of 4, he would drive his godfather’s tractor on the farm. Al had a special fondness for the family pets over the years. His greatest enjoyment in life, though, came from spending time with his family.
As Al first battled Multiple Myeloma (2011) and worked to recover following a stroke (2018) his family is grateful for the many physicians, nurses and therapists that helped to ease his health struggle. The journey was made easier, too, through the support and encouragement from family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Al will be deeply missed by his children, Dawn Kauffman (Donald); Russell Logan (Lori), Carolyn Shoop (Bill); two grandsons, Gregory, and Carson; and a brother, Art Logan; sisters-in-law, Janet Logan, and Barbara Case; as well as many nieces and nephews. Al’s dogs, Peanut and Shelby will miss him greatly. Al also appreciated the times spent with friends throughout the years.
In addition to his parents and godparents, Al was preceded in death by a brother, John B. Logan III.
A celebration of Al’s life will be held at a later date, at a place that was most special to him – his home.
In lieu of flowers, Al’s family wishes to help others in his honor: please consider donating to the Last Chance Ranch (9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 or https://www.lastchanceranch.org/donate/); or to an organization or ministry committed to easing the burdens of others. Al was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever there was a need.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Al fought the good fight, and he is now finished the race, having kept the faith.
