Acme Screening presents evening of dark shorts

ACME Screening Room hosts the premiere of the short film, “Turpentine,” plus the screening of two award-winning horror shorts, paired with an intimate one-on-one with the production house @ThriftSoul.

“Aphotic: An Evening of Dark Shorts” begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at 25 S. Union St., Lambertville, N.J.

“Turpentine” is a psychological story about a son’s journey through grief, fear, hate and acceptance. Local film maker Elijah Amant and crew will discuss their filmmaking and cinematography techniques. “Turpentine” will hit the film festival circuit this year.

The two additional films are “Teeth” by filmmakers Daniel Gray and Tom Brown, “which is scarier than going to the dentist,” and “Spring County Psycho” about a young man who finds himself being held captive in a deranged man’s basement as truths begin to unravel. Dan Kassel, cellist for “Turpentine,” will perform between films.

Tickets are $12 ($10 for members) for films, music and discussion. For information and to purchase tickets, go to
