Acme Screening presents anti-fracking documentary

As part of an Earth Day Series, the ACME Screening Room will show “Groundswell Rising,” at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in partnership with the Lambertville Environmental Commission and the City of Lambertville Committee Against the PennEast Pipeline.

The film will be followed by a discussion led by Tracy Carluccio of the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.

“Groundswell Rising” documents the opposition from both sides of the political spectrum to the “ubiquitous practice” of fracking for natural gas, and the health and environmental reasons behind it.

It gives voice to ordinary folks engaged in the struggle as viewers meet parents, scientists, doctors, farmers and individuals, decrying the energy extraction process known as fracking that “puts profits over people.”

The documentary tracks a grassroots movement “exposing dangers to clean air, water, and civil rights.”

The ACME Screening Room is located at 25 S. Union St., Lambertville, N.J. For information and tickets, go to
