Ohio University, BCCC agreement to provide educational opportunities for nursing grads

Posted

Ohio University and Bucks County Community College have entered into a collaborative agreement that provides students who earn an associate degree in nursing at Bucks with a guaranteed academic pathway to seamlessly transfer into a parallel bachelor’s degree program at Ohio University that can be completed entirely online.

The Ohio University School of Nursing RN to BSN program is designed especially for registered nurses (RNs) who want to further their education and advance their career by earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).

The two institutions signed an articulation agreement, which provides the framework for collaborations between specific programs, as well as an addendum outlining the collaboration between the two nursing programs. The articulation agreement will likely lead to additional agreements in other disciplines at the institutions. This is the first such collaboration between BCCC and Ohio University.

Under the nursing agreement, students who graduate with an Associate of Arts Degree in nursing from Bucks County Community College will be guaranteed admission into the OHIO RN-to-BSN program if they complete all courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and satisfy all other Ohio University transfer admission requirements. The agreement is in effect until June 2022.
