New Hope Film Festival announces lineup, moves screenings to 2021

Posted
The 11th annual New Hope Film Festival (NHFF) announces its lineup of international and domestic films for the 2020 season, with Official Selections, including 41 films from eight countries.

The scaled-down numbers reflect the difficulty of obtaining exhibition copies of films during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lineup also includes 17 original scripts. Screenings are postponed until 2021.

Selected films have been previewed on the festival’s Google blog and in a Special Edition Program Guide that includes the July 2021 screening schedule.

The annual gala event has been replaced by a first-ever world announcement in a Variety digital publication that will go online in conjunction with Cannes Film Festival on June 30, 2020. All award winners and nominees will also be listed on the festival’s blog in early July.

NHFF films are cutting-edge, intellectually challenging and entertaining for the growing number of cinephiles who attend. The festival annually announces its awards in Variety.

The festival was founded by D.F. Whipple, an author, screenwriter, and longtime resident of the New Hope area.
