League of Women Voters members line the Lumberville - Raven Rock Bridge passing a torch from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote.

The League of Women Voters of Bucks County joined with the League of Women Voters of Lawrence Township, N.J., in a symbolic meeting midway across the Lumberville – Raven Rock Bridge, where they transferred an unlit torch, on Aug. 23.

Held in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, League members honored the fight of suffragists as they symbolically “passed the torch” to new generations who continue the hard work to protect the right to vote.
