Opera Project presents memorial concert

Posted

The Opera Project presents its annual memorial concert at 3 p.m. May 19, at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, Fourth Street, Frenchtown, N.J.

“The Opera Project Says Farewell” is to honor the two valued company members it lost this year: bass-baritone Don Sheasley and Celtic harpist Carol Thompson.

Sheasley was a well-known figure in the life of opera companies in the tri-state area for more than 40 years. Thompson, considered one of the finest Celtic harpists in America, was a Grammy-winning artist who performed with the Paul Winter Consort and the Chieftains. She was a beloved teacher and a resident of Frenchtown.

This concert of arias, duets and art songs is a celebration and the Opera Project’s way of honoring their lives.
