“Large feline” report prompts closure of Solebury park

Posted

Update: Aquetong Spring Park  reopened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday after a review of several video clips determined that it was merely a large domesticated cat. Anyone missing a black cat that stands about 20" in height from the ground to the spine, is asked to contact police.

Solebury Township Police Department received a call Wednesday morning from a concerned citizen who observed a “large feline” roaming the park trails.

The report prompted Aquetong Spring Park to be closed “till further notice,” according to a report on the township’s Crimewatch page.

The police department has contacted the Pennsylvania Game Commission and residents are urged to call 911 or 215-328-8511 if they see the animal, but not to approach it.
