Fire destroys Plumstead home

Posted

An early morning fire tore through a home on the 6000 block of German Road last week in Plumstead, officials said.

No one was home when the fire broke out at approximately 2:15 a.m. on May 18 and no injuries were reported, according to the Plumsteadville Fire Company.

Firefighters from eight neighboring fire companies responded to the blaze within minutes, but the home was already showing heavy fire.

The volunteer firefighters battled the fire and remained on the scene until 8 a.m.

Plumsteadville was assisted by Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Point Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company, Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company, Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company and Warrington Fire Co. No. 1.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
