As a young woman Claire worked in the offices of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. In 1946 she married Thomas J. Scott, her husband until his death in 2000. A few years after they were married the young family moved to Elkins Park near Philadelphia where Tom was employed as a financial analyst in the federal Reconstruction Finance Corporation and later the Small Business Administration. In 1957 they moved to Doylestown. During her career in the fashion industry, Claire was employed at well-known local boutiques, including Ann Stanley, Musselman’s and the Paper Unicorn in Doylestown and at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska. She was a gregarious, elegant, and popular lady who was loved by all who knew her. She and Tom were long-time members of the Doylestown Country Club. She enjoyed socializing and catching rays at the pool there and on the beach at the Jersey shore.

Claire lived the final six years of her full and wonderful life at The Solana Doylestown. She was predeceased by her son Thomas J. Scott, Jr., two brothers and a sister. She is survived by son David Scott and his wife Jane (Moore) Scott of Ridgefield, CT, daughter Stephanie (Scott) Lindner and husband Richard of Franklin, TN, devoted friend Cynthia Porter and husband Gary of Warrington, PA, daughter-in-law Nancy (Reinhold) Scott of Kintnersville, grandsons Graham Scott and wife Sarah (Tucker) Scott of Perkasie and Tobin Scott and fiancé Emily Shaud of Bethlehem, granddaughter Ashley Lindner of Smyrna, TN and great-granddaughters Megan and Peyton Dahl also of Smyrna. Claire was known affectionately by her grandsons and their friends as GG (Graham’s Grandmother). She loved that name.
